COLUMBIA PRO CANTARE will sing works by jazz great Dave Brubeck Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 8 pm in the Jim Rouse Theatre, Wilde Lake High School, Columbia. Accompanied by the Eric Mintel Quartet (EMQ), the CPC chorus will sing excerpts from Brubeck's The Light in the Wilderness (1968) and To Hope! A Celebration (1980), and a song based on the Langston Hughes poem Hold Fast to Dreams (1998). Two of Eric Mintel's choral works will also be featured. EMQ appears throughout the eastern seaboard and has performed twice at the White House, most recently for President Obama in December 2011.
